Small Business Saturday is November 26, 2022

Support Your Local Small Businesses

November 1, 2022
Since its debut in 2010, Small Business Saturday (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) has not only increased awareness of locally-owned, small business but also increased the number of shoppers.  Small Business Saturday has resulted in a steady increase in the popularity of shopping local, especially during the holiday season.

Why have small businesses become such a popular destination for shoppers? Several reasons!

Most locally-owned shops stock one-of-a-kind gift options, so shopping there means you can find the perfect gift for everyone on your list, without the risk of duplication.

Personal attention from the owner gives shoppers an “expert” opinion about the products or services you are purchasing. Many times a conversation with the owner can help to surface some unique stories about your purchase.

Money spent locally stays local. According to the American Independent Business Alliance, each dollar you spend at local businesses returns 3 times more money that one spent at a chain.

As a resource in and for the community, Macaroni Kid is a strong advocate of and supporter for Small Business Saturday. That’s why we’re encouraging everyone to play a role in supporting small and locally owned businesses on Saturday, November 26th, this year’s Small Business Saturday.
