Jesus In a Manager

An easy craft for Preschool Age Children

Materials Needed:
  • White or Off-White piece of Construction Paper
  • Peach Construction Paper
  • Light Brown Construction Paper
  • Blue washable paint
  • Green washable paint
  • Brown washable paint
  • Light brown felt
  • Gold foil stars
  • Foam stars
  • Black felt tip pen
  • White irredescent pipe cleaner

Directions:
  1. Cut a 10 inch circle from the white construction paper
  2. Paint half of plate with blue paint (your sky)
  3. Paint half of plate with green paint (your grass) and let dry
  4. Paint brown paint onto child's hand and have child press down in the middle of the plate between the two paint colors, with the palm of their hand on the blue and fingers on the green. Let dry.
  5. Cut manager from light brown paper (about 5 inches long) - See picture for shape - Glue onto the center of the plate, with about 1 inch of child's palm showing above.
  6. Cut baby's head out of peach paper, draw face with pen and glue it in center of plate above the manager piece. 
  7. Cut a 1 1/2" oval shape out of felt and glue at base of head and slightly on top of manger
  8. Make a 1/2" circle (or just wrap around your index finger) with the pipe cleaner and glue above and to the left side of baby's head.
  9. Stick stars in the sky (blue paint) above the baby Jesus.
